I'll add a few things. There are two primary False Gospels rampantly sweeping across America and not just in the secular parts of our society, but more and more in the pews of Christian churches, both Catholic and non-Catholic alike.
The first, 'The Prosperity Gospel', has been around for centuries in some form or another. Perhaps in part because of modern technology it seems to be growing at an exponential rate. 24/7 you can have one of these False Teachers/Preachers beamed into your television, computer, or smart phone. People like Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar, TD Jakes, and so many others are the "preachers" that St. Paul warned about... those that will "tickle the ear" to saying exactly what the Christian WANTS to hear. And what did St. Paul say about those who preach a false gospel? "But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach [to you] a gospel other than the one that we preached to you, let that one be accursed! As we have said before, and now I say again, if anyone preaches to you a gospel other than the one that you received, let that one be accursed!" - Galatians 1:8-9
I don't know about you, but when I hear St. Paul REPEAT himself... I listen.
The second is one that has been around for decades and has now reached the point of having become a 'religion' to some: 'Political Correctness'. This false gospel is based on emotionalism, not the Truth of the Bible, Sacred Tradition, the Church. It is based on emotionalism, not facts. It is based on emotionalism, not reason or a critical thought process. It is based on emotionalism. Can you imagine a marriage relationship based on emotionalism? Need I explain?
We need to wake up. Oops, I meant to say, we need to WAKE UP.
