So Benny Hinn - 'Mr. Prosperity Gospel' - has finally seen the light. For the third time. Three times a charm! Anyone reading this: if you follow any of the people I'm about to list, renounce them and get as far away from them as possible. The "Prosperity Gospel", as I've said for decades, is a FALSE GOSPEL. And those who preach this Gospel are FALSE TEACHERS. I know wayyyyyyy too many Catholics who read and watch some of these charlatans and still don't "get it".
What does St. Paul say about such people? Let's look at Galatians 1:6-10. This is not rocket science, this is straight forward. And notice how St. Paul repeats himself... that is significant.
"6 I am amazed that you are so quickly forsaking the one who called you by [the] grace [of Christ] for a different gospel 7 (not that there is another). But there are some who are disturbing you and wish to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach [to you] a gospel other than the one that we preached to you, let that one be accursed! 9 As we have said before, and now I say again, if anyone preaches to you a gospel other than the one that you received, let that one be accursed! 10 Am I now currying favor with human beings or God? Or am I seeking to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a slave of Christ."
Let's break that down: Verse 6 - he is talking to Christians who follow these false teachers and have forsaken their true Faith. Verse 7 - he is talking about the people listed below (and those just like them). Verses 8-9 he is addressing these false teachers. Verse 10 - he is equating the false teachers as those who would rather be popular among men rather than preach Christ crucified and curry no favor among men but pleasing to God. That leads to a question: do you support these false teachers by watching them, attending their events, purchasing their books and audio files? If so, you are rejecting the true Gospel It really is that simple.
So who are some who are perverting the Gospel? Who are some of the FALSE TEACHERS? Joel Osteen - yes - Joel Osteen; Joyce Meyer; TD Jakes; Joseph Prince; Creflo Dollar; Kenneth Copeland; Jesse Duplantis; Paula White; Juanita Bynum. These are only the most recognizable names. There are Prosperity Gospel charlatans in every town and city. Let them ALL be accursed and fellow Catholics, RUN away from them. Get rid of their books. Get back into the one and only Faith founded by Jesus Christ. Trust in Him.
