From the recording A Bridge to Heaven
I had always wanted to write a wedding song and the inspiration came from my relationship with a very special person at a very special time in my life. As the song developed, I could hear it as a duet with a female vocalist. A Dúet singing a duet. (Sorry, couldn't resist). An important consideration for a duet is that the two voices must mesh well together. When it came time to record, my producer and friend, Chris Taylor, introduced me to an incredible female vocalist.
When I first heard Mary-Kathryn sing, I knew our voices would work well together. To this day I still remember vividly the day we were all in the studio together. Mary-Kathryn, so Spirit-filled and Spirit-led, offering her soul for the recording of this song. I shall be forever grateful to her and to Chris. By the way, I do have sheet music for this song. I do not sell it, I give it away. So send me an e-mail if you'd like a copy.
Lyrics
Walking through the empty streetsLonely in the nightSearching for the missing pieceOf a broken-hearted life
Standing there beside youIn the shadows all the whileIt took so long but now I seeNow I realize
We can build a bridge to HeavenWith the love between you and ILike the stars that shine foreverIs the love between you and I
When you look into my eyesYou see right to my heartNo fears, no comprimiseCould tear this love apart
We can build a bridge to HeavenWith the love between you and ILike the stars that shine foreverIs the love between you and I
Where can we goWhen we don't know what tommorow will bringWe trust in the love, it's all that we haveTwo hearts, one Lord, one life
We can build a bridge to HeavenWith the love between you and ILike the stars that shine foreverIs the love between you and I
We can build a bridge to HeavenWith the love between you and ILike the stars that shine foreverIs the love between you and I my love
