From the recording Come to the Cross
I wrote this song at a time when I was trying to find my identity not only as a Christian, but as a wounded Christian. I began to look back over my life and I saw many painful moments and realized that I could not be alone... that most people have been through painful moments. It was then I realized that the answer to all of the hurt and pain is healing that can come only from the Cross of Jesus Christ. He bore all of our sin, suffering, pain. We need to come to the Cross, lay all of our sin, suffering, and pain at the foot of the Cross. We need to leave it there. It was upon hearing this song that a dear friend, Mary Jayne Staudt, encouraged me to begin recording my songs for others. That's what got this whole train rolling. Thank you, Mary Jayne.

Lyrics
Looking back at life
I turn my face to hide from what I find
Broken promises, painful memories
Forgotten dreams, I've had many
There's a part of me
A broken part of me I don't understand
Sometimes the things I do
They make me feel confused with who I am
With who I am
I have stumbled, I have crawled
And I have cried
I have struggled, I have fallen
And I have tried
To understand, to understand
There's a river flowing
There's a Father knowing what we need
There's a peace to find
There's a love the binds every heart
Only at the Cross
There is healing, there is hope
And there is love
For every broken heart
For every lonely voice there is peace
Waiting at the Cross
If you've stumbled, if you've crawled
If you have cried
If you've struggled, if you've fallen
If you have tried
If you've stumbled, if you've crawled
If you have cried and I have seen you cry
If you've struggled, if you've fallen
If you have tried
Then come to the Cross, come to the Cross
Come to the Cross
I have stumbled I have struggled
I have fallen I have cried
And I have crawled
And I have tried to hear You calling
I have stumbled I have struggled
I have fallen I have cried
And I have crawled
And I have tried to hear You call
Call, I hear You calling, "Come to the Cross"
As I follow Him, come and follow me
As I follow Him, come and follow me
As I follow Him, come and follow me
As I follow Him, come and follow me
Come to the Cross
